Artist's Comments

God, I love Illustrator. (Photoshop, too.)

This one took a while longer than most renderings (about 3 hours for tracing, coloring, and shading). Lots of overlapping.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996) is property of the Walt Disney Company.

Clopin fans everywhere: Is he this tall compared to Esmeralda?

I believe Clopin was a tad bit shorter than her, but its been a while since I've seen the movie (shame on me!). Overall I really like this picture  Great perspective, great shading!

Heh heh, thanks. =D Maybe he caught her a little off guard when he grabbed her and pulled her forward, thus making her feet drag a little behind her.

Oo! Thanks for the :+fav:, too.

I love how absolutely soft everything looks. You really managed to stay true to the original sketch in your coloring and cleaned lines, which is BEYOND amazing to me (I always have difficulty making sure nothing is lost in the translation). I just think you pulled this off so well, and that it looks so warm and delicious. Excellent job!

Very well done.
A very colorful and well composed piece, Excelent expression of emotional content from the subjects as well, a challenge in the static image.
exquisite work.

All kidding aside... Thank you very much. I'm really pleased with how this turned out (although I'm still a bit unsure as to Clopin's relative height to Esme). Illustrator really comes in handy when it comes to tracing and manipulating lines and shapes to your liking. Have you tried it? If not, I recommend it. It's a really handy tool. Of course your Photoshop work is excellent. ;-)

Thank you so much for your kind words (and the :+fav:!). You cannot escape the glompage of DOOM! :glomp: BWA HA HA HA HA HAAA!!!

Well, consider also that this illustration is based of a photo of my parents (my dad being the taller one). I'll do my research next time. =D

(In THOND, though, you only see Clopin and Esmeralda in the same shot together very briefly. Kinda hard to tell. Hmmm....)
